Seeking DIY/Farm-makeable Grain bin blowers/dryers.
Just wondering if anyone out there knows of innovative ways/diy plans/farm-made versions that folks are drying their grain with?
Thanks!

Here's some information about Plant Growth Regulators:
I recently read a book, Botany for Gardners. In it I found information on how much a corn plant typical transpires in a given season. This got me to thinking about other plants. The book stated that a single corn plant will transpire 55 gallons of water throughout a growing season. In other words, seedling to harvest. In a typical growing season of 130 days, that translates to about 2.4 gal/day. Seems like a lot of water. Does anyone know if this kind of information exists for other plants?
Looking through the AdaBio Autoconstruction book this weekend, it occurred to me that a weak link in Farm Hack's open source idea exchange is our ability to document tools accurately with measurements and scaled drawings. It seems that facilitating community members to learn CAD would be a useful path forward. Perhaps a Tool that is for CAD learning resources would be a good place to start. Maybe we can make an effort to team up with people/institutions who each/use CAD to bring them together more readily with Farm Hackers in some way.
While tabling for FarmHack at NOFA VT, I was approached by several students very interested in starting a FarmHack club/org. Noticing that there aren't any upcoming events on the calendar, I'm wondering if this is a good time to reach out to these students and initiate them to hold a first event on their campus.
I'm wondering if the community is aware of this movement to begin an organization at UVM and what people think of this development in the evolution of the community (I believe that this would be the first student-run FarmHack group?)
we are building two solar charging centres in northern alberta so that we can drive our converted pick-up truck to our farm sites which are 40 km apart here is one of the centres, there is a lot more to the project but wondered how others may be using solar on their farms?

OFF_Logo FREE AND OPEN SOURCE SOFTWARE FOR THE FOOD REVOLUTION
Because freedom matters for software just like it does for seeds.
Start-Up Projects
Open Food Hub (OFH) is software to run a stand-alone food hub (of any scale). It enables you to manage online ordering, multiple suppliers and products, and a range of distribution points. It is designed to facilitate the viability of ethical and sustainable food enterprises. It exists and is useable. It will get better.
Hi everyone, Interested in suggesting things a room full of software developers should hack on for the Food Systems Hackathon this weekend? Come to the How Can Technology Help Vermont's Food System? Workshop on Saturday, February 16 at 10:45am in Burlington, VT for the NOFA-VT Winter Conference. If you can't make it, feel free to write your suggestions in the comments here and I'll make sure to submit them for consideration during the Workshop.
We were just featured on MAKE Magazine's blog (March 3, 2014) - The Future of Farming is Open Source http://makezine.com/2014/03/03/the-future-of-farming-is-open-source/
And Shareable did a great piece here: http://www.shareable.net/blog/farm-hack-and-rafi-partner-to-share-north-carolina-farm-innovations
Noticed that this link isn't working on several (maybe all) tools.
Thanks!
