I like the embeded google document spreadhseet as a method for documenting the bill of materials. I just edited the tool template http://farmhack.net/tools/tool-template#wiki to recommend this practice.

Thanks. In the upper left corner of a google doc there is a blue button that says "SHARE"

When you click it select HTML for Embedding or something of that sort and it generates an html code that you can copy -> paste into the page here. I had to resize it to width=1000 to make it look OK.

I put together a quick how to for embedding google docs into tool profiles or wikis, etc. You may want to click the gear (top right), and view in imgur to better see the screenshots.
