After a recent grazer's conference it was clear that a useful "kit" for a FIDO/Apitronics system would be a system with the following set of sensors/switches
1) electric fence system voltage and remote shutoff (rover)
2) chest/meat freezer data log and alert
3) water level alerts
This covers the basic worry points with an animal grazing operation - are they secure in the fence? do they have water? and is freezer working to protect the thousands of dollars of product already harvested?
These should be relatively easy to implement using FidoNet type (or similar) technology.
