The FabFarm network invites Hack-Spaces, Maker-Spaces FabLabs or what ever you name it to get connected for collaborating in projects. We thought it would be nessesary to get the farming in focus of some more open-source developer.
FARMDATA is now open source and available for free public downloads. We are also giving a free training webinar on use and installation of FARMDATA next week - February 19th at 1:00 pm, hosted by Small Farm Central. To register, visit http://pages.smallfarmcentral.com/farmdata/

I just came by Jon Evans piece on Techcrunch blog, The Internet of Someone Else's Things. It's interesting to hear in the mainstream some echoes of what drives us to decentralize the Internet of Things to give power back to the farmer. He makes some good points.
They say “possession is nine-tenths of the law,” but even if you physically and legally own a Smart Thing, you won’t actually control it. Ownership will become a three-legged stool: who physically owns a thing; who legally owns it; …and who has the ultimate power to command it. Who, in short, has root.

Really nice design. I want to "like" this--we should include that functionality in Farm Hack 2.0.
Thanks for another great organizers call. Usability and front page redo are moving ahead!

A quick update from our farm here in Quebec where adoption of the triangle quick hitch was our big winter/spring machinery project for last year. We've now had a full season to evaluate the system and we're pretty darn happy about our decision to adopt this tool.
