The theory behind FarmHack is to create "an Open Source Community for Resilient Agriculture," and we believe that an essential step towards community resiliency is to evaluate and transform our energy footprint. Measure S put us ahead of the crowd in regaining local sovereignty, but we must take the next steps in ensuring that our fuel comes to us sustainably and responsibly, and preferably locally.
I am curating an exhibit at the University of Michigan in October called Farmer as Creative. I just learned about farmhack today! The show will exhibit creative solutions us farmers use every day. Tools, machines, food, recipes, community, etc. Even some historic stuff like digging sticks and shell hoes. Would love to get submissions like the work I found on the site! Anyone out there interested in submitting work for the show??
