Farm Hack @ Draft Animal Powered Field Days

Date/Time:
Saturday, September 26, 2015 - 1:30pm
Location:
Cummington Fair Grounds, Cummington, MA
Description:

Farm Hack is an Open Source community for farm tool innovation. The community is based on the principle of radically open knowledge sharing to the benefit of human-scale agriculture. At this session, we'll be exploring the intersections between human-powered and draft-powered cultivating tools. We'll start with an explanation of the Farm Hack idea followed by hands on brain-storming, trouble-shooting and fabrication. We'll be working with a Pioneer Homesteader and a pedal-powered cultivating tractor invented by Farm Hack community member Tim Cook and innovated on and improved by the Farm Hack community across the globe.

Work on these tools will be on-going during the weekend with a main presentation and demonstration of the tool innovations on Saturday from 1:30-3:00.

We'll have a generator and MIG welder, and an assorted mobile-shop-like tool selection.

Bring your brain, bring your pencil, bring your hammer.

This Farm Hack session is in collaboration with the Draft Animal Power Network and is a part of the biannual DAP Field Days. For more information about the Field Days, visit the DAP website.
