The teaching version of the loggers required different sensors for each lab, so we tweaked the 2-part model with 3D printed rails holding mini breadboards to provide this flexibility. The software has also been streamlined significantly and people shouldn't have too much trouble adding other sensors provided you stick to 1,2,4,8 or16 bytes/record and your modules don't pull more power than the coin cell can provide. The small form factor makes it easy to deploy these things in small spaces, and the centrifuge tube is waterproof to several meters depth:

Any updates to this recently? The links to sketchup aren't working.

The gear ratio varies based on preference - however, on one non-electric version here the crank is 24 teeth and 34 on the rear axle using #35 industrial sprockets and fixed gear. The rails are 24" apart from the inside on a 48" wheel track and there is about 51" from the back of the front cross bar to where the peddles clear.

Hello. Thank you very much for your new uploaded photos, are very usefull for me to start. How big are the gears, one on the pedal and the second on the axes if the culticycle is without eletctric power? How much space is recomended to be between the two wheels to have enough space to put the working bar?

Design Edit: Sam Zurofsky of Long Season Farm has made an alteration to the original design with the goal of making the electrical element more easily changeable and enclosing all electrical components in a waterproof box. He has documented this on imgur: https://imgur.com/a/IhPzoGe

I am looking for someone that can help me take my vision (explained in my about me section, and attached below) and turn it into a business plan, with ways to sustainably monetize it, or other creative ways to raise the capital needed for infrastructure towards my goals.

Most of the new conversations are at goatech.org forums to consolidate - I recommend checking the forums out over there.   The equipment libraries and posts are still being kept active on farmhack.org.   I personally have built the germination chambers and they have worked quite well even with bellow freezing outside temperatures.  I used an oil filled crockpot as a heater, and a regular humidifier - since the first posts there are many more off the shelf plug in thermostats and humidity controls available.  Most of the work is in building food shelves for the trays.

I dont see any recent conversations.Like not since 2019. Is anyone here?
I have a dead upright freezer and want to build the germination chamber but the only place Ihave for it is outdoors. I start seeds end of january. Its below freezing till mid March here. Any thoughts?

We should believe and obey in Safety First Mission. Either it is a woman or a man. I am doing multiple businesses such as indoor Plants in Islamabad and Massey Ferguson Tractors in Botswana. I know how safety is compulsory for workers.

I built your thresher and recently made a vid of it in action: https://youtu.be/DYG6QuU8ZCg It works pretty good. Quite good in beans but much more work to get wheat to thresh well. Cheers

I first learned about this in 2006 when I was in Guatemala!  The folks who made this were testing out whether they could make one for macadamia nuts.  Anyway, I was told that it was extremely popular in the part of Africa that relies on peanuts for protein.  https://www.instructables.com/id/Universal-Nut-Sheller/

Does anyone know what the best Mycorrhizal companions for Osha root are?

Are there any specific species that it does best with?

Howdy all!  I'm James, starting a farm in Oregon, no money, etc.  I've been aware of Farm Hack since I was doing my interning / wwoofing 7-8 years ago, and I'm excited to finally be in a place where I can participate more meaningfully.

To that end, I seem to remember checking this forum out 6 or 8 years ago, and there being a bunch of hacks and improvements for different tools.  Right now, I'm looking for Earthway Seeder improvements.  Is that material archived somewhere?  Am I just confused?

Thanks!

Hello!

My name is Collin, and I am from Portland, Oregon. I recently began a career change from a would-be urban planner/underemployed Uber driver to a database manager. I just started learning Python programming on FreeCodeCamp.org, Udemy, Coursera.org, and I will soon enroll in Duke University's Big Data and Data Science online program. I want to start-up what's known as a Credit Union Service Organization (CUSO) that will help credit unions service a multitude of sectors, including permaculture and ecovillages, with financial technology. In other words, I want to work towards giving credit unions the data they need to fund FarmTech hacks.

If you need a volunteer for an easy, beginner-level database project, please send me an email or visit my LinkedIn profile at https://www.linkedin.com/in/collinsferguson/.

Sincerely,

Collin S. Ferguson

Thank you Tom, I am going to soon be sharing with your internet blog having a variety of neighborhood conservation classes. We've now been needing only this conversation on farming and conservation efforts might be free. I believe we are able to cause much better habitat AND workable agricultural manufacturing in case we could keep an eye on and know that the procedures . I've to try out the FLIR thermal digicam onto the UAV nevertheless, but'm very interested to achieve that.
