SIM Card vs Phone
I'm curious why you used a phone instead of putting a SIM card into the arduino to send the messages? This is great by the way!

I am very interested in the android based fido that uses the thermodo sensor. Wondering if or when the application may be ready for the public. I live 25 minutes from the farm I manage and text message notification of temperature in our seedling greenhouse would be a great help. Any timeline or suggestions appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Can I use it in our winter crop storage area?

Hi RJ,
Great job starting the Fido 2.0 documentation! It's awesome that the price is driven down even further and that you don't need to keep a text message plan.
However, I think it would be better to start a new tool for Fido 2.0. It's solving the same problem but I think that the tech/hardware/build/issues are so different that it is confusing to put both tools under the same umbrella.
What do you think?

You may be interested in this board that I have designed http://hackaday.io/project/1150-Power-Monitor. I am using an electric imp, but I believe that it could easily be configured with this board http://www.seeedstudio.com/wiki/GPRS_Shield_V2.0 . And in addition to sending an email if the temp is too high or too low I believe that this shield can push data to xively.com, but I will check that out this weekend. There is more information on my github page, and a link to the BOM on the hackaday site.
