USDA Innovations Challenge

Hey everyone,

Just a short intro, I basically know nothing much about farming except that its a pretty data-driven and specialized practice with a wide range of different kinds of farming. I'm a web developer/CS student whose had several web apps under my belt (see my github: github.com/mding5692) and am working on an online hackathon by the USDA called the USDA Innovations Challenge (http://usdaapps.devpost.com/) and am working with a professor from North Caroline State University who specializes in plants as well several other devs.

I found sections of this book very helpful in framing the Farm Hack project. I recommend others taking a look - especially around documentation and cultural best practices.
